The graduation project is the engineering design of The Language and Cultural College Building of Shanxi University , including architectural design and structural design. The architectural design includes the designing idea of the whole project, architectural practices and the plan, elevation and section design of the building. The structural design consists of structural plan, structural calculations and construction design. The building takes steel reinforced concrete frame structure. In the process of structure plan, the beams and columns section are calculated and selected. During the structural
calculation, the reinforcement of plates, beams and columns are calculated. In construction design, the design of foundations and stairs are the main two parts. The software PKPM is employed in the
structural calculation to analyze the structural effect and the steel distribution of the reinforced concrete. For example, PMCAD, SATWE, JCCAD, and LTCAD modules are used during the process. However, the force calculation and seismic displacement are checked by hand. And architectural and structural drawings are all completed with AutoCAD and Tangent series.
