三. 教材分析
本单元主要围绕自然灾害（Natural disasters）展开。让学生明白生活中我们可能遇到的各种自然灾害，以及在面对突如奇来的
我们应该怎么办。最后引导学生思考有哪些因素会引起自然灾害，而作为地球上的人类，为了自己的安全，我们应该 怎么做才能避免发生不必要的自然灾害。 教学重点：Some important words and phrases:

教学难点： To learn and understand several sentences: I was sleeping when it started to rain.
Lightning started a big fire in a house.
教学目标：
一．知识与能力目标：
1、通过问题引出有关自然灾害的话题。 2、初步导出过去进行时。
3、了解并熟读熟记一些常见的自然灾害的名称。 二. 方法与过程目标：
1. 掌握单词词性转化技巧，提高运用英语词汇的技能； 2. 培养学生带着问题自主去搜集、整合材料的学习能力。 三. 情感态度与价值目标：
观看一些贴近生活的图片激发学生的兴趣和求知欲，提高学生的独立思考能力，并使其口语交际能力在英语中充分发挥， 在学习英语过程中享受到积极参与和收获成功的乐趣。在学习的同时渗透积极向上的人生观与价值观。 ㈠．教学方法
Listening,acting,discussion, communication ㈡．教学过程
Teaching steps: Step1 Warming up 1.The teacher asks: What’s the weather like today? What was the weather like yesterday? What will the weather be like tomorrow? 2.The students answer:It is /was/will be…(复习有关天气的词汇sunny,rainy,snowy,windy等) 3．Let the students show their pictures and make the same dialogues. Step2 Presentation 1.The teacher says: Hobo also met bad weather,what happened to him ? Before listening to the tape,try to answer the following questions: What is the weather like?.(Rainy.) What’s wrong with Hobbo’s house ? (It’ s all wet) Why did Hobo ask Eddie to go home with him? (To mop the water up for him.) When did Hobo hear the rain? 2.Listen to the tape and try to anwer the questions. 3. Read the dialogue loudly again and again .?(同时介绍过去进行时：was +doing) and ask them to act it out. Step3 Presentation 1. 本节课教学目标明确，教学思路清晰。通过个人抢答，小组合作，组间竞争等多种学习模式，引导学生自主学习，
合作交流，让他们充分领略学习的乐趣。本节课难易得当，容量大，学生学习氛围好，热情很高。在教授知识的同时，能 兼顾学生综合能力的培养。本节课内容贴近生活，能在学习知识的时候引导学生去关心我们的社会和我们所赖以生存的环境，并能让学生掌握一些基本的灾难中的求生本领实用性很强，学生很有兴趣。
本人寄语：
我们教师在教学中，要认真备课，除了备教材，还要备学生，备一些相关的背景知识，要上好一节课， 得付出几节课的时间，还要认真向同行佼佼者学习，掌握先进的教学理论、与时俱进。更要熟练掌握先进的 教学设备并灵活运用于自己的日常教学中，这样提高课堂效率才有可能，学生的文化成绩也才有可能提高。 总之，一个好老师必须是热爱自己职业的，是勤劳的，是创新的，更是与时俱进的。
