Many people believe that the hump(驼峰)of a camel is full of water . They believe this is the reason that camels do not have to drink very often, but they quite wrong. A camel’s hump is not full of water. It is mostly fat. The camel’s body can use the fat later when it is hungry, but it does not help the camel go for a long time without drinking. A camel can do this because it does not sweat(出汗) very much.
When people and most other animals get hot, they sweat. Sweat is mostly water from the body. Therefore, when people sweat, they lose water and soon have to drink .If they do not drink water, they die. When a camel gets hot, it does not sweat very much , so it does not lose much of the water in its body. It does not need to drink very often.
There is very little water in the desert, so any animal that does not need much water is very useful for carrying people and things across the desert. Camels can travel a long way without stopping for food or water. This is why the camel is called “the ship of the desert”. Many families have a very busy life in America. every week , the children have sports, music lessons, club meetings and many other activities, including hours of homework. The parents are busy , too They work, take care of their homes, cook meals , and drive their children to activities. Some families do not have time to eat meals together more than once a week . One Amerian Community(社区) decided that it was time to take a break.

This year, the government decided to start morning classes an hour later. This will help students feel less tired. And most middle schools will begin the first class at 8:30 in the morning. The students are happy about the change.
Liu Ming told us that his classmates were excited at the news on the first day of school. “Great! From now on we students at Chengdu No. 4 Middle School don’t have to get up so early!” Liu said that he used to get up 6:40 in the morning. Now he can get up at 7:40 because class doesn’t start until 8:30 in the morning.
