When I finished reading the book, Mother had a talk with me. “You can also accomplish what Helen Keller did.” Mother’s words ring in my ears whenever I see the book, inspiring me to face the challenge in life.
An alternative student version: Lying in my drawer is a delicate wooden toy ship. It was a gift from my grandfather when I was young. Grandpa was fond of making things by hand and kept improving his skills. Seeing that I was tired of school, my grandpa promised that he would make me a wooden toy ship if my grades got better. My great love for toy ships made it hard for me to refuse his offer. I agreed and the following weeks witnessed Grandpa’s constant efforts to perfect his gift.
I did a good job in the final exams. Naturally Grandpa kept his word and gave me the gift, which really looked like a real ship. “With great efforts, you can achieve whatever you want”. Whenever I see the toy ship, I will think of Grandpa’s words, giving me power to struggle on.
